About World Ranking Map
Our purpose
World Ranking Map exists to make country-level statistics easy to compare. Public data on topics like economy, health, environment and society is often scattered across different institutions, published in different formats and hard to put side by side. We collect these indicators, normalise them onto a single comparable scale, and present them as interactive maps, ranking tables and charts so that anyone can see how countries relate to one another at a glance.
What you can do here
Every topic is shown as a colour-coded world map and a full ranking table, with each country's value, overall rank, rank within its continent, corrected percentile and a nine-level grade. You can colour the map by grade, by a basic or logarithmic value scale, or by percentile. Beyond single topics, you can plot two topics against each other as a scatter chart to see correlation, run a multi-topic analysis across several indicators at once, open a country profile that lists every indicator we hold for that country, and export the full ranking of a topic as a CSV file.
Free and Premium
Browsing is free and does not require an account: per-topic world map images with commentary, the blog, the topic directory and the country list are open to everyone. The interactive analysis tools — the live topic map and ranking table, two-topic scatter plots, multi-topic analysis, AI statistics, country profiles and CSV export — are part of the Premium subscription. Official statistics and AI estimates
The Site presents two clearly separated kinds of data. Official statistics are measured figures compiled by institutions such as the World Bank, the IMF, the WHO and the UN; each topic page names its source. AI statistics are different: AI-generated scores are analytical estimates produced by World Ranking Map and are clearly distinguished from official statistics. They exist for subjects where no comparable official measurement is available. To produce them we break a subject into weighted sub-criteria, ask several independent AI models — currently models from OpenAI, Google and Anthropic — to score every country on each sub-criterion, average those scores across models, and combine them by weight into a single 0-100 score, which is then ranked and graded. These estimates reflect model judgement rather than measurement, they are labelled as AI statistics everywhere they appear, and they must not be read as official figures.
Data sources and updates
Official statistics are compiled from publicly available datasets published by international organisations and national statistical offices, and the source and reference year are shown on each topic page. We review topics and refresh them when the underlying source releases new figures, so different topics may have different reference years. AI statistics are regenerated when we revise a subject's sub-criteria or run a new evaluation, and each AI topic is reviewed before it is published. If you find an error in any figure, please tell us and we will check it.
How our content is created and owned
We do not simply republish someone else's dataset. For every topic we select the indicator, normalise the raw values onto a common scale, compute overall and continental rankings, derive the corrected percentile and the nine-level grade, generate the map and chart renderings, and write the accompanying commentary. The AI statistics, including the sub-criteria, their weights and the resulting scores, are created by us. The compilation, the derived scores, the grading method, the visualisations, the written commentary and the software behind the Site are our own work and remain our property; the underlying public figures belong to their original publishers, whom we credit on each topic page.
Who it is for
The Site is built for anyone who needs to compare countries quickly: students and teachers preparing coursework, journalists and writers checking how a country ranks, researchers and analysts looking for a starting point, and readers who are simply curious about how the world compares. No statistical background is required — the map, the ranking table and the grade are meant to be readable at a glance — while the scatter, multi-topic and CSV tools are there for people who want to go further.
AI statistics you can create
Premium members can use the AI Statistics Studio to build their own AI-scored world ranking on a subject of their choosing. Each month the subscription includes a credit allowance, and generating sub-criteria, translating them into every language and scoring all countries across several AI models each draw on those credits. A creation can be kept private or published to the community, where other Premium members can view it (publishing requires a full translation, gives a credit discount and, once chosen, cannot be reversed). Member-created AI statistics, like all our AI statistics, are analytical estimates rather than measurements and are labelled as AI statistics wherever they appear. Members are responsible for the subject and content they choose; they keep the rights to their creation while granting us the right to display and translate published entries for other members. Published statistics can be edited if a reason is given, and that history is recorded.
Who operates this site
World Ranking Map is operated by MetaGrid, a sole proprietorship owned by Choi Jungmin and registered in the Republic of Korea, business registration number 108-26-92861, at #214, 46 Apgujeong-ro 2-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
