About World Ranking Map
Our purpose
World Ranking Map exists to make country-level statistics easy to compare. Public data on topics like economy, health, environment and society is often scattered across different institutions, published in different formats and hard to put side by side. We collect these indicators, normalise them onto a single comparable scale, and present them as interactive maps, ranking tables and charts so that anyone can see how countries relate to one another at a glance.
What you can do here
Every topic is shown as a colour-coded world map and a full ranking table, with each country's value, overall rank, rank within its continent, corrected percentile and a nine-level grade. You can colour the map by grade, by a basic or logarithmic value scale, or by percentile. Beyond single topics, you can plot two topics against each other as a scatter chart to see correlation, run a multi-topic analysis across several indicators at once, and open a country profile that lists every indicator we hold for that country.
What it costs
Everything on this site is free to use, and no account is required: topic world maps and commentary, ranking tables, two-topic scatter plots, multi-topic analysis, country detail pages and the blog. AI-scored world rankings live on a separate site, ai.worldrankingmap.com, where selected rankings are free to view and building or sharing your own is part of a Premium subscription.
Statistics and AI-written commentary
Every number behind the rankings and maps is a real measurement. The figures are compiled from datasets published by bodies such as the World Bank, IMF, WHO and the UN, and the source is shown on each topic page. The commentary below each topic, however, is drafted by an AI language model and then reviewed before publication. It explains the numbers; it never produces them.
Data sources and updates
Official statistics are compiled from datasets published by international organisations and national statistical offices, and each topic page shows the source and reference year. When an original source releases new figures we review them and update accordingly, so reference years can differ between topics. If you spot an error in a figure, tell us and we will check it.
How our content is created and owned
We do not republish other people's datasets as they are. For each topic we choose the indicator, normalise the raw figures onto a common scale, compute world and continental rankings, derive the corrected percentile and the nine-grade band, generate the maps and charts, and write the commentary. These editorial and derived results, the grading method, the visualisations, the commentary text and the software that runs the site are our own work and belong to us. Rights in the underlying public figures remain with the organisations that published them, and each topic page credits the source.
Who it is for
The Site is built for anyone who needs to compare countries quickly: students and teachers preparing coursework, journalists and writers checking how a country ranks, researchers and analysts looking for a starting point, and readers who are simply curious about how the world compares. No statistical background is required — the map, the ranking table and the grade are meant to be readable at a glance — while the scatter and multi-topic tools are there for people who want to go further.
Who operates this site
World Ranking Map is operated by MetaGrid, a sole proprietorship owned by Choi Jungmin and registered in the Republic of Korea, business registration number 108-26-92861, at #214-S89, 46 Apgujeong-ro 2-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea.
